Happy Birthday Grandma

Today my mom and I were able to have a girlie day with my grandma. We went to see the movie Music and Lyrics with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. It was cute - a perfect movie for a girls day out.

After the move we went to Cold Stone Creamery and enjoyed a sinfully delicious treat. sssh - don't tell my Weight Watcher's accountability partner that I splurged!

I love these women so much! They have both taught me so much throughout my life - and I am very much the woman I am today because of these two...

Snow

I think this must be the most interesting winter ever! We had snow again. The flakes here were HUGE - they looked like golf balls gently falling from the sky.

I had jury duty, so as I was rushing out the door, I had to run back into the house to get the camera. My new crocuses were just too delicate with the snow - had to grab a shot!

I also wanted to create some photo art capturing the snow in a unique way. Click each image to view larger.

2 Year Anniversary

Kyle and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary today. It is so wild to think that two years ago I was the frantic bride trying to have the picture perfect wedding! Oooh, what fun memories :)

I am ever so lucky to be on Jury Duty this week - oh boy! A lot of waiting around... so I started The Chronicles of Narnia on audio book on my ipod. It helped pass the time quickly.

We had already celebrated our 2nd anniversary a few weeks ago at the Blue Man Group concert in Everett. So tonight we had a nice romantic Twilight Dinner at Anthony's at Point Defiance on the Tacoma waterfront. Our view was beautiful - and the food was great too. Once again I forgot to bring my camera, so here's another trusty camera phone pic of Kyle and I.

** Let's just pretend this is the best picture ever! I know it's bad... Let's just blame it on the camera phone... if I had my "real" camera, things would have been different! **

kitties

Today I wanted to play around with one of my large zoom lenses. And since there are no kids in our house yet, our kitties get the usual camera torture... Zonk, our little boy kitty was the only willing participant today - enjoy!

I cannot believe I caught him licking his lips! It is so odd looking - it almost looks fake!

Close up of Zonk's fun eyes - his mommy kitty had brown speckles in her blue eyes too.

Aaaaw - my little boy is just too cute! And he is the biggest cuddle bug too :)

Blonde Again

I am so excited - got to get my hair done today. Susie, my hairdresser is so fun and spunky - she did a great job. I am officially blonde again. I took the winter off and had some fun with some richer, darker colors, but today I am ready for a HOT summer! I'll post pics as soon as Kyle and I get some done.

Speaking of pics,I did a DVD slideshow for my friend Amyee this week for her daughter's birthday party, and she is going to take our pics - can't wait. Sometimes it's so hard to find time to get our own photos done - I'm too busy taking photos of everyone else!

World's Best Mom

I win - I have the World's Best Mom!

I received the cutest card from my mom today - it was so encouraging. My mom is so awesome. She has spent HOURS listening to me, talking with me, counseling me, encouraging me... so supportive. She even helped me at two bridal expos - what a woman! I don't think there would be enough room on my entire blog to write all the wonderful things about my mom!

I thank God daily for giving me such a wonderful mom! This goes out to you mom - I love you!

Friendships

Today I was able to spend some quality time with two dear friends. Too often I let myself get so busy that I don't allow myself to take time for friends - but today I got a good dose of getting some friend lovin' in!

This morning/afternoon I went with Jeanesse to check out her reception site Russells Dining & Bar. And then we had some girl time - can't wait til your wedding Jeanesse - we are going to have so much fun with your pics!

Then to avoid the five o'clock Seattle going home traffic, I stopped by my friend April's house and shared some time with her and some tender cuddle time with her precious Hannah - what a cutie pie!

Thank you Jeanesse and April for making my day wonderful!

I hate being sick

Really, what's the point of being sick? I have been sick for days now... I want to feel better! I want to have a productive day where I email all my clients back, return all my phone calls and get a ton of photo editing done. Hah! Nice dream right now!

I want to crawl back into my fluffy bed to drift back into ny-quil induced blissful sleep.

Blue Man Group Rocks!

We went to see the Blue Man Group last night - WOW! It was incredible! I am sick, so I was pretty worried about whether I would enjoy it or not, but it was spectacular. We were 5th row, pretty much a perfect spot.

All over the tickets it stated that there was to be no video, photo... you know the drill at concerts... so, we get in there, and across their readerboards it states to take pics and video throughout the show! Aaaahhhh! I could have died! We had left the camera in the car - and there was no re-entry. I was pretty sad. But alas, we have nifty little phones now, so, here's the quality on my camera phone - don't laugh! It's only 15 seconds - but it's all ya get!

p.s. yes, the guy at the very end of the video is Kyle enjoying the show.

A few pics from the last time we saw the Blue Man Group down in Vegas in 2003.

Family Photo

A long overdue photo of Kyle and I and our "family"... as if kitties count! For now they are all the folks are getting - so enjoy your grandkitties!

Tonight we are having an early 2nd anniversary celebration. We get to go see the Blue Man Group at the Everett Events Center. If you haven't been to a show - I would highly recommend it! this will be our 3rd together.

I'll post a few pics tomorrow from the show.

Keen Calistoga

I want these Keen Calistogas! Pictured below in driftwood but I want the black - love the cute flower design on the tops. I think these would make great shoes for weddings. Great shoes are a #1 priority for me when shooting weddings. I want to have something cute and smart to wear with black slacks, but I want to be comfortable too. Running around all day can really wear me out when I don't have great supportive shoes on.

I lived in my Keen sandals last summer, so think I'll invest in the cute Calistogas.

Canon G7

Here's a fun photo Erwin took last night. Me Ra was talking about how great the Canon G7 video quality is while Brian and Erwin were playing with Erwin's new Canon G7 taking pictures of us. What a hoot!

Check out the Canon G7 on dpreview.com. We have the Canon A620 for when we need a point and shoot and short movies- which we love... I'm sure Kyle (my hubby) will be wanting to get the NEW Canon G7 as soon as he reads the review for the G7!

Back to Blogging

Back in March or '06 I started this blog... and there it sat! I had great hopes to put a lot of great wedding photography samples on here - but I have not done so yet. So, today at our PUG (Pictage User Group) meeting our topic was on blogs.

Guess I need to get with it and start blogging away!

By the way, I am reallly enjoying the Tacoma PUG - what a fun group of people :) It is just incredible to see wedding photographers coming together and developing relationships. I think I have not laughed so hard in a very long time! This shout out goes to all you PUGers - how's my blog?
