2010

It's been far too long since my last post... so long in fact that I am ashamed to even have my blog linked to my site! I have decided to make a little New Years resolution... and the blog is involved...

I plan to blog 3+ times per week. While this may just run me into the ground for posting it publicly, I wanted to let all my loyal blog readers know that I want to be here for you.

So, on that note, let the blogging begin! And while I don't have my BEST of 2010 slideshow quite ready to post, every post is better when it has a photo... please enjoy this image of lil Emily...

I feel like I go so far back with Amanda! I worked with her mom for five years, I've photographed her neices for commercial photography, I photographed her brother's wedding several years ago... and now Amanda's Senior Session!

Wish List :: Love Affair Photo Workshop

Wow! I cannot believe how backlogged I am in updating my blog! I have so many wonderful sessions to blog about, but first I want to tell everyone out there how much I want to go to this amazing photography workshop Love Affair Photo Workshop.

I am entering their drawing for a workshop tuition. Hope I get it!! It would really make for a fun summer workshop to attend.

I want to tell you all about why I want to attend... well, the ladies who put it on are AMAZING! And I would love to soak up all the wonderful photo knowledge they have to share! I really want to take my photography to a whole new level and think this is the perfect worshop to do just that :)

Shelby :: Senior

Seniors are so much fun!

Shelby and I met out at Pt Defiance for her session... and then it began to rain. I am so thankful to have a studio rental space when this happens! Thanks Willow!

Stella :: Newborn

I simply love to photograph newborns! They are so fresh and squishy and for the most part, pretty cooperative. Stella was an angel for her session. She slept most of the time which really helps!

Anna :: First Birthday

This week I had the joy of photographing Anna's first birthday photos. Anna is such a tender little girl and a delight to spend time with. My dear friend Crystal is Anna's mom and we have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time together lately as Crystal has been visiting this month from Arizona. Don't go home Crystal!

Jessica & Tyler :: Wedding

What an amzing day at Snoqualmie! Jessica and Tyler were married at the cute chappel there and then snowboarded down the mountain. You should have heard all the guys talking as Jessica walked by... "That's my dream girl" or "If I ever get married I want a woman like that" It was too funny!

Today my friend Dinea and I met for coffee to "talk shop" and after tried to capture a few images of Noah at the park. He took a pretty hefty fall after these few were taken so we had to cut it short. Why is it that every time I try to capture HIS photos he always has a scratch, bruise or something the day before I want to take the photos?

It's always a pleasure to photograph friends. Today, despite the drizzle we ventured out to photograph April & Calvin's family for their Christmas cards. Their girls are just adorable and were in a great mood - which makes my job easier! We went to Indulge Cupcakes after for a little treat since the girls were so good.

My baby is ONE already! What a year it has been!

Noah is now 20 pounds 8oz, a long way from his tiny 4 pound 10 oz beginning! His little personality is just adorable :) He loves to crawl around everywhere and get into anything he possibly can! He is close to walking too.

Amazing Neighbors

I love our neighborhood! We have some of the most amazing neighbors :) In fact I recall when I bought the house being pretty worried about what kind of neighbors I might have. As a girl living alone, I wanted to know I could be comfortable with the people around me. Well, meet the Backus family. They moved in just after I did (never mind Shawn moving in a washer and drier one night scaring the begeebers out of me at midnight to surprise his wonderful wife Karla before they officially moved in!)

Fast forward 5+ years, and it has been a great joy to get to know the Backus family. They are that amazing "cup of sugar" neighbors. We have fun catching up on life while fixing up our front yards, watch eachother's pets when on vacation, and just plain 'ol love who they are.

This summer in the midst of my wildly busy wedding season, we were able to sneak in a family session. It was tempting to rain on us so we opted for a quick little indoor session.

Paige

A few weeks ago Paige and her mom Pam (a dear friend of mine) and I went to downtown Puyallup and their home for Paige's photos. It's been a joy to watch this amazing young woman grow up!

Maya

Isn't Maya just the cutest thing ever! My cousin Gena wanted to take Maya's photo with her wedding dress each year. We had a blast at her fist session when Maya was just a tiny thing. This year, it was a hoot trying to keep little Maya in one place! Whew - toddlers are busy :)

Mike & Jamie 8.23.08 Wedding :: Teasers

It was such a blast today with Mike and Jamie. A fun-loving couple that just wanted to get some great shots! Sure makes being a wedding photographer fun!

I love it when couples make their schedules work for a lot of creative photos. Jamie and Mike's ceremony was at 2pm, and the reception didn't start until 6, which gave us several hours for the photos - that's the way to do it if you decide not to see eachother before the wedding!

Kim & George were married yesterday 8.8.08 at Meeker Mansion in Puyallup. It turned out to be a beautiful day and the historic manion was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.

Holly and her folks go to my church (and are in our bible study) and though we didn't really get to know eachother too much with Holly being away at college, it's like photographing family! Wells Family :: Portraits

I love taking photos of kids - such fun! We were blessed with a beautiful and warm evening to take the Wells family portraits in their beautiful back yard(minus the mosquitos). Its always fun to watch kids grow up - their adorable personalities beginning to blossom! I had taken their photos when the twins were 9 months and boy was it a riot trying to maneuver all three kids. It was a bit easier this time, except that the chase was on! What a workout for all the adults involved!

Pool Time

Noah got to go swimming for the fist time yesterday. He had so much fun splashing around!
We will be spending a lot of time in great grandma's pool this summer if we keep having these scorcher days! Whew!

What an amazing day! So beautiful - Holly did a wonderful job planning out all the fun details right down to a photo booth and horse drawn carriage! I'll share more later, but for now wanted to share an image from my new fisheye - Mt Rainier was incredible peeking through in the background.
